My Own Personal Soundtrack

I found that when I start to get down, I love to listen to music. I said in my last post that I had God's Jukebox in my head. I have friends who will refer me to great music to listen to.

What I didn't know was the number of Christian Blues artists there are out there... Imagine B.B. King or Z.Z. Hill but in a Christian genre. That blew my mind. I was given a playlist this weekend that sounded like some southern bar decided to drop the whiskey and pool-playing and have a revival. It was giving me life. I love blues because it is so honest, raw, and real. Imagine worshipping God in that same tone but the words giving GOD ALL the praise with it. I was so inspired. I could take on the world if I had to. I was all ready to take on chemotherapy and just face off with it like we were Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots.

There are times when you want to listen to music to put you to sleep. That's when I hit my Lo-fi music. Beautiful sounds placed in a mellow tone that would make you feel like you can just close your eyes and listen to the peaceful melodies. I can always put some natural sounds on and listen to the waves of the ocean like I'm on the beach or a nice stream. I don't know what people love about fireplace sounds. Just makes me feel like I need to put out the fire from all that cracking and popping. Hey! If that's your bag baby, who am I to judge it?!

I love Hans Zimmer and John Williams. If I have to explain who those gentlemen are, then you don't know music, sir or ma'am. Their music theory when it comes to making soundtracks for movies is beyond amazing. Listening to them transports you to another place entirely. Talking about God-given talent. Especially now where actual instrument play is so obsolete. I love listening to actual musical instruments. I learned to play 4 different instruments growing up. Violin, Cello, Flute and Bassoon. I bet you can't guess which ones were my favorite. Maybe I'll tell you later in the post.

Catharsis in music. That's all it is. A holistic healing in sounds. What else could you ask for in life?!

Do I really need to tell you which were my favorite instruments to play growing up??
